The Shedworker's Bookshelf - Men and Sheds by Gordorn Thorburn

Arguably the most famous shed book of all time (so far...), Men and Sheds was responsible for raising the profile of shedworking atmospheres in the UK. While in some ways this extended photo essay follows the cliché about the eccentric nature of some sheddies, it also celebrates the joy of shed ownership and its success emphasised how central the shed is to our national psyche. The black and white photos are extremely atmospheric and make this an absolute must have on your garden office bookshelf. You can buy a copy from as little as 50p from abebooks below but as it's nearly National Shed Week I'm in expansive mood and the first person to email me a funny shed joke will get a free copy.
