Square Footage Out Back

A nice piece by Billie Cohen in the New York Times looks at the growing interest in building in your back yard/garden. As Cohen says: "Outbuildings like old-fashioned sheds and barns, as well as modern hideaways, are becoming more popular. Not only can they make a property more attractive, but they also lend themselves to a range of uses." Cohen continues:

"That connection is part of the appeal for Tim Seifert and Sonya Erickson, who are working with the Greenes to turn a shed on their Lopez Island property into a work space. “There’s something cool about stepping outside here, either for our guests coming into the house for breakfast or for my wife walking through the elements to her office,” Mr. Seifert said."
