Mark Twain - champion shedworker

Mark Twain wrote some of his most famous works in his octagonal shed/study including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. You can visit the study, built in 1874 so that he would have somewhere to write undisturbed, on the grounds of Elmira College which is home to the Center for Mark Twain Studies. You can also get a model to make yourself at the wonderful Fiddlers Green site here.
