Siberian Wooden Houses

Over the years I've found that those who like shedworking like wood and for those of you who are timber fans, here's a wonderful find by friend of Shedworking Wolf Brinkman (whose work has appeared both here and on Bookshelf), Siberian Wooden Houses. Put together lovingly by Russian artist Vlad Gerasimov who lives in Irkutsk this is how he describes the site:
"Irkutsk has a lot of wooden houses, once beautiful, now quickly degrading, being destroyed by time. I decided to drive around the city and nearest villages and take photos of most unusual houses, before they become history."
The results - which Vlad has turned into desktop wallpapers - are spectacular and as Wolf says, check out that cladding!

  1. If you're in Siberia in the winter, there's probably not much else to do but filigree planks. Pretty spectacular.
