Coffee Shop Office is an interesting blog which focuses on working out of coffee shops (what they call "java commuters"). Here's what they say:
"Entrepreneurs, freelancers, consultants, and a host of other people have chosen the coffee shop as their alternative office. The objective of the project is to find out when and why this trend has developed as well as uncovering the pro’s and con’s of using the coffee shop as an alternative to the more traditional office or home office."
It's part of a wider project which includes a web site, survey and book. There's also an interesting historical side to it looking at the history of coffee houses. Coffee Shop Office is run by Gregg Taylor, Lori Thiessen and Aaron Cruikshank.
You just gave me a great idea: I'm going to turn my backyard home office into a coffee shop office for others in the neighborhood. I don't need all of the 300 sq ft footprint. I'll only charge them for the coffee -- that will pay for the internet, etc. YAY!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for picking up on our blog, coffeeshopoffice. We really appreciate the plug. I'll return the favour.
If it isn't too cheeky, I invite you to check out our other blog, www.caffeculture.wordpress.com. It's all about the more artsy side of cafe life.
Cheers,
Lori
