Tumbleweed Tiny Houses touring the UK 2009

Jay Shafer's titchy Tumbleweed Tiny Houses are one of Shedworking's favourite shedlike atmospheres. So we're all rather excited at the prospect of seeing him in London on his 2009 workshop tour. There will be two workshops (like the one pictured above), the first on Saturday September 12 will cover how to build a tiny house from the foundation to the roof plus a look at building basics, types of trailers, heaters, kitchen equipment and windows. The following day looks at design and "the human element of living in a smaller space". Both will be run by Jay with lots of time for questions afterwards. I think these will be very popular events so it's well worth booking now. Location to be confirmed. More details at Jay's site. There's a video about the workshops here.

gotta laugh at a workshop that puts design after how to build!

  2. I've not been to them, but I think the idea is that the first workshop is a very practical look at the nuts and bolts of building the basic elements while the second is more about the furnishing angle and the philosophy behind it all. I see your point but in a way it would be just as backwards the other way round. The best thing of course is to go to them both.
