Andy Riley: shedworker

Andy Riley, illustrator and author, is also a shedworker. Here's an excerpt from an interview he gave to Daniel Epstein at the suicidegirls site:
"I drink coffee and go to the shed in the garden. Then I sit down and I work with a sketchpad. I go “I’m going to have an idea now.” That’s when all the stuff you see on the street filters through and comes together. It mostly happens when I apply myself...It worked for Roald Dahl. He went and just wrote from nine to five every day in the shed. It’s a good way to get stuff done because I don’t go around with a little tape recorder. I tried once but it put too much pressure on me. I felt guilty at the end of the day because I hadn’t filled it up."
