This week's shed (or to be precise, shepherd's hut) belonged to a wellknown naturalist and author, sadly no longer with us. Can you name the owner and where it is based?
I think this belonged to Roger Deakin, author of Waterlog, Wildwood and Notes from Walnut Tree Farm. It can be found in Mellis, a village on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. I grew up in Mellis and Roger was, for a while, one of our teachers at Diss Grammar School. A great guy, a talented and humane writer and sadly missed.
