Shedworking improves your mental health, says report

According to a new report by Jules Pretty and Jo Barton of the University of Essex in the Environmental Science and Technology Journal very small doses of outdoor activity can boost your mental health, mood and self-esteem, while exercise near water is particularly effective. This is obviously great news for shedworkers who have nature right on their doorstep. “You get a very substantial benefit from the first five minutes. We should be encouraging people in busy and stressed environments to get outside regularly, even for short bits of time,” says Pretty. "This study confirms that the environment provides an important health service."
