Well according to a slightly strange B&Q survey reported by
PA they want 'sexed-up garden sheds'. The overall top 10 wishlist is as follows:
a secure lock (45.1%)
a radio (36.07%)
a potting bench (32.93%)
a Jacuzzi (25.1%)
a television (24.9%)
'eco' features or solar panels (23.13%)
under-floor heating (22.5%)
bar (21.3%)
a carpet (19.8%)
a bed (16.67%)

ReplyDeleteA bent nail.
The sound of the neighbor's lawnmower.
An old chair with no back.
A travel magazine.
A radio.
A window.
A coat.
A can of lager.
A floor.
Some sacks full of crumpled newspaper.
Well, I'm a woman, and I'd like a shed big enough to move around in: with a ceiling fan; the potting bench of course; a carpet - NO!, for heaven's sake, it will get dirty! But, a cushioned mat in front of the potting bench; a rocking chair and a bookcase beside it. Under-floor heating - nice! For me, a vintage theme!
ReplyDeleteJames said "the sound of the neighbor's lawnmower". Not me! Unless they're noise-less. I have a landscaper come do four houses in a row, behind mine, which is an all day noise-fest! Ugh!
Looks like a bunch of Lady Chatterly wannabes want a shed like that.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy with a shed that is tidy...where I can find what I need. I'm happy with my chair in the garden and it is close enough to the house I can get to the secondary fridge from the back door into the laundry room.
I have carpet tiles in my shed from the previous occupant and will be removing them as soon as I have a suitable replacement
ReplyDeleteWomen in general probably prefer a large window with a lovely view of the garden. Some blokes prefer not to have any windows because of the glare on the plasma TV screen. Me, I want both. I can always buy curtains.
