Why you should let employees work from home

Alexander Kjerulf, Chief Happiness Officer at the lively Positive Sharing site which encourages people to think good happy thoughts about their workplaces, has a nice post about why a company should let employees telecommute following a study by Pennsylvania State University. He picks out the main findings and gives his own conclusions:
"It just underlines what I always say: Who knows better than you, when and where you do your best work? I’ve always assumed that the employees of any given company are responsible adults, capable of making decisions for themselves. If they’re not, why were they hired in the first place? The great thing about this study is that it clearly suggests that even though the effects may not be huge, telecommuting is good for both employees and for the workplace."

Thanks a lot for the kind words about my blog - I'm glad you liked the post.

I think there's huge potential in letting more people work from home and that the companies who do this stand to make a lot of money on it.
