How beach huts could save an historic sea pool

Exclusive new beach huts will hopefully save the historic Bude sea pool, reports the North Devon Journal

The pool at Summerleaze beach has been threatened with closure following a loss of funding but campaigners Friends of Bude Sea Pool believes the small group of huts with fabulous views overlooking the pool and Bude Bay will raise enough money to safeguard its future. An artist's impression of the huts is pictured above. The sea pool was created in the 1930s to provide safe swimming, is free and is one of very few such tidal pools in the UK. More details about the beach huts will be available at a meeting tomorrow at 7pm at the Parkhouse Centre, Bude.
