The Yorkshire Hut Company

York-based (actually Nether Poppleton-based but that's splitting hairs) The Yorkshire Hut Company is a family run business led by Kevin (who has 25 years experience in the furniture industry) and Pennie Lordan (who looks after the interior design side of things) specialising in shepherds' huts - as they say "they look at home in any urban garden as well as in the heart of the countryside". Specifically targeting the garden office market, internal options include double bed/sofa, bunk bed, desks, cupboards, shelving, and tables, plus handmade wood burning stoves and lighting. Paint finishes are largely done using Farrow and Ball with Osmo Hard Wax Oil for a natural wood finish and Jonestones for exterior quality paint.

  1. This looks wonderful. I saw something similar built onto an Isuzu flat bed truck in USA last month. The interior looked the same. I felt like a stalker creeping around with my camera but I was hooked by it. I thought if I won the lottery I'd find someone to build this for me. Well, I reckon The Yorkshire Hut team would be that someone.

  2. Hi,

Can these be mounted on a braked trailor? If so can you send specs and approximate price please.

Hi I’m making a houseboat and wondered if you would be interested in a quote to make the roof in a similar design to your shepherd huts. Would need to be 4mts wide with as low a profile as aesthetically possible with a tottotal length of about 14mts as light as possible. Regards Fred
