Man and Cameraman: GBS photographic archive

Expect more photos of George Bernard Shaw's hut to pop up in the near future as the LSE has started an extraordinary project, Man and Cameraman. Shaw took thousands of photographs and the project will catalogue all his prints and negatives, around 20,000 items, and make them all available online. There's also a blog and a preview of how it's all going here.

  1. This photo shows Shaw using a corespondent's typewriter. It was the equivalent of today's laptop. Light, portable, and not quite as good as the desktop model but very workable.

Also, his heater looks remarkably similar to one I have in my basement for emergencies.
