Luxury overnight stay beach huts could transform UK holidays

Beach Hut Resorts has unveiled the first of 21 luxury overnight stay beach huts at Dukes Walk, Whitley Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne. The new concept beach huts are available to rent from £300 to £400 per week and feature bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and seating area. The huts are fully equipped with shower, cooker, microwave, hi-fi, wi-fi, double glazing and full insulation.

Beach Hut Resorts has secured a number of sites for further development and is currently in negotiations with coastal Councils throughout the UK to develop a chain of day-stay and overnight stay beach hut complexes. Beach Hut Resorts spokesperson Alex Miller says: “Beach Hut Resorts will transform the traditional British seaside holiday by offering affordable, luxury accommodation only metres from the beach. With the increased popularity of the ‘staycation’ we have had considerable interest from families even before we had our demonstrator unit on site. But the benefits of Beach Hut Resorts extend beyond a fantastic seaside holiday. Unlike the Family Park concept where everything is provided on-site, our guests will help support the local economy by visiting attractions, eating out and using local shops”

The Beach Hut Resorts Whitley Bay development is the first resort in a planned £35m roll-out throughout the UK. Each beach hut will sleep between two to six people depending upon design, and each resort will be attached to an art gallery with 24 hour security and concierge service.
