Christmas tree shed

As it's advent, we start with the regular series of Christmasish posts. Scott Posno from Nest Projects writes in to let Shedworking know about the tree house he built for his twin seven-year-old daughters for Christmas in 2007.
Our lone tree in the yard could not support a small building, so we basically put this shed up on stilts, 5' high above the ground, nestled beside our tree. The entire shed was built on the ground, and raised into place by six strong men upon completion. Construction is simple wood stud framing, and clad entirely in cedar. During summer months it has served well for afternoon tea with friends, and evening sleep-overs with movies run from a laptop computer. The spartan aesthetic and simple form is consistent with many of my professional designs, which can be viewed at www.nestprojects.ca.
