The Shack

One of the greatest rewards of running this site is when other people feel it has helped them with their shedlike projects. Tammy, John, Sam, Will, and Dobbs have built a really lovely shedlike atmosphere on Gambier Island, British Columbia  which they explain in, very readable, detail over at the marvellous Apartment Therapy. The footprint is titchy (10 by 12 feet with a sleeping loft adding another 6 by 12) and I'm proud to add they say Shedworking was partly their inspiration for the project. If you're at all interested in tiny house living or indeed simply building your own garden office, this is an absolute must-read. And you can see lots of photos of the build at their Flickr site.

  1. Thanks for the mention -- and for the ongoing inspiration! We're planning an even smaller shed (think 6' by 6') to serve as a clubhouse/bunkie for the boys when they're a bit older, so we'll definitely keep coming to Shedworking for ideas.
