A fascinating feature by Tom Rawstorne in the Daily Mail about how to build your own tiny house in a week (even if you're not especially handy in terms of DIY) using the new kit from Mark Burton at Tiny House UK. Here's a snippet:
By lunchtime, I have completed the rectangle of walls without any major difficulty. Structurally, my little house is already remarkably strong given that it is held together only by a handful of screws. The next step is to add the pointy gables onto either end of the house and to connect them by the ridge beam — a long strip of wood which runs the length of the roof... I’ve already noticed the neighbours peering nervously through the hedge at this new addition to my garden...It's quite a long piece but well worth a read. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark Burton is a great guy and a credit to our sector. I love his tiny houses and I'm so pleased he's getting the recognition he deserves. Good on you, Mark.
ReplyDeleteI love being able to work on my own DIY projects in the garden and garage, but I absolytelu detest having to clean up. I was just wondering what the general consensus was on getting a house clearance or garden clearance team around to help with all the debris? I mean at the end of the day, there's only so much scrap that can be salvaged after a big project...
ReplyDeleteI'm a professional and I can say that a tiny house is by definition different from a shed. But as I see and and have read the article, they don't really acknowledge that. Hmm
