Modulr Space: Sustainable garden offices

Modulr Space is a new garden office supplier, based in Hertfordshire and run by Jo van Riemsdijk as a sideshoot from the FDArchitecture architectural practice which specialises in luxury retail and commercial projects for clients such as Rothys, Selfridges, and Versace.

As well as looking particularly lovely, they are very keen to emphasise the environmentally-friendly elements of the buildings, using expanded cork (carbon negative), Accoya cladding (FSC Gold), EPDM, SMILE plastics (recycled plastic waste, 100% recycled and 100% recyclable), and SUNFLEX UK aluminium glazing system.

"The use of natural materials such as cork help out units blend into the natural environment, and we don’t use concrete, we use ground screws for our foundations, " Jo told Shedworking. "We have an in house interior designer who will work with clients to help them personalise their space. The unit walls internally are covered with Camira or Kvadrat fabrics which are very sustainable and we offer a series of colourways. We will be adding to our range consistently with new and innovative designs that embrace biophilic ideologies."
