Shed of the Year run by readersheds.co.uk is obviously the Oscars of the industry, but there are also some great BAFTAs and Golden Globes equiavalents. Brand new on the block is Wickes Home Office Awards 2021 sponsored by the wellknown home improvement retailer, hard on the back of its recently launched new fitted Home Office range in March this year.
There will be two rounds to the Wickes Home Office Awards resulting in five shortlisted winners (£150 voucher each) and one overall winner (£1,000 Wickes vouchers). These are the categories:● The
Minimalist Master Award – for best
use of limited space, such as the bedroom wardrobe, under the
stairs, making use of alcoves, and transformer furniture
● Best Interior and Mindful Design Award – the home office which is the most stylish with colour and fun accessories yet bears in mind comfort and wellbeing
● Cleaning Up in the Kitchen Award – a home office in the kitchen area
● The Sensational Shed Award – a garden office/studio, converted shed or any general external space outside of the home
● The Savviest Set-Up – a productive working space designed and created on a tight budget
The judges are television presenter and property experts Phil Spencer, interior designer Ben Hillman, and buyers for Wickes’ new Home Office and Hub Garden range.
Phil Spencer said: “If lockdown has taught us anything, it’s how to make the most of the space we have. For many, that has meant getting creative to provide a suitable place to work and separate it from our home life. I’ve seen some amazing examples of this and as homeworking continues to increase, a home office space is likely to become as sought after as an en suite or garage."
To enter visit Wickes Facebook, Instagram or Twitter page and follow the instructions to share a picture of you in your working from home space using the hashtag #WickesHomeOfficeAwards. Entries are open until 17 May and entrants must live in the UK and be over 18.
