Two of the most popular bespoke shed types over the last few years have been, interestingly, pub sheds and home gyms. Here's a good example of the latter, The Boutique Gym run by Kathy Tritton at her home garden room in Whistable, Kent, and built by eDEN Garden Rooms.
Kathy and her family use the equipment for their own personal fitness regimes, but she also uses the space to run her own personal training business. As such, it has some key tailormade features including reinforced walls and ceilings, and a slightly higher roof level (3m rather than 2.5m) to give a feeling of space and to futureproof it for taller gym equipment down the line.
“My
customers don’t want the gym to feel like a gym," says Kathy, "it’s more of a retreat
where they can focus on themselves for an hour. You can see the
immediate relief when they see the space and realise it’s something
different to what they were expecting. The
expenditure was well worth it, and considering it is used regularly by
all the family instead of expensive gym memberships and also brings in
an income, it really has given us fantastic value for money.”
