Green studios

It's becoming increasingly difficult to carve out a distinctive niche in the garden office market but while many suppliers are keen to emphasise their green credentials, Green Studios (an example is pictured above) makes this their number one selling point.

As you'd hope, all timber used in the construction of their buildings is sourced from FSC certified suppliers and they use organic, odourless, solvent-free paints to decorate their offices. But there are lots more examples including:

- donating 1% of sales to environmental organisations worldwide

- encouraging customers to use their “online consultation” using online meeting tool www.gotomeeting.com

- supporting the Woodland Trust's "Plant a Tree" initiative and donating 10p for every customer who downloads their brochure (they don't produce printed ones)

- trying to halve the amount of waste they send to landfill
