There's a new look to Garden Spaces online offering as it's new-look website has just gone live. "Hopefully it is a massive improvement on the old one, which was great but showing its age," says the company's director Roger Hedges. "The new site is a massive step forward and once again industry leading. We have decided to drive this by our design styles/specifications, and also our customers usage – Form and Function if you like - as you will see through the high level Style and Spaces image menus."
Roger is particularly pleased with the Details page which comes with interactive images, and the pricing guides."We have been very busy in the last six months and we have a backlog of builds to add to our Gallery section on the website. A further 120 entries will hit the new website Gallery pages next week."
Work is also underway on the sister Annexe Spaces site which will be up and running for Grand Designs Live London at ExCeL in May. Roger says: "Never has there been a better time to offer modern, stylish, highly quality and energy efficient, yet affordable living space. We are very excited about how we are going to grow this side of our business over the coming years."

Estuary Cabin is an impressive build from Exeter-based Out of the Valley in nearby Topsham, Devon. It's a 22m² cabin right next to the river Exe. It's a multi-purpose space, used as an artist's studio as well as somewhere to eat and entertain guests. Nice touches include the charred cedar interior (a nod to the blackened hulls of the river boats), interior walls clad in English oa, cornerless doors, and a large decking area.

Movement, a marvellous new exhibition of paintings by Pennines-based artist and shedworker Alex Jabore, has just opened at Nantwich Museum. It combines her focus on ballet with her love of British wildlife which has recently taken a very shedworkingesque turn. Here's what she says about her series Lockdown Morning Chorus which forms a major part of the exhibition:
"My studio is in the garden with bird-feeders outside the windows," she says. "I thought I would fill my lockdown by painting my companions in isolation. There is a great comfort in nature continuing oblivious to these strange times, busts of colour and life. With roads quieter and everyone at home suddenly birdsong seemed to be everywhere."

Though it looks a bit large to be a garden office, this build by Danish architects SLETH in a wood in Aarhus for a female writer is in fact built specifically as a shedworking space, or as the architects put it "functions as her everyday office get-away". The main materials used are stone (for the floors, representing the forest floor), wood (Douglas fir throughout the interior), and copper (for the façade to blend in with the forest as it oxidises). Other features include a kitchenette, large sliding glass doors, bathroom, and roof space rooms which can be used for sleeping or storage.
It's a lovely working space, or as the architects put it "a blend of wellness and wellbeing close to nature that result in a place for inspiration, reflection, and contemplation."

One of the obvious advantages of a garden studio is that it offers you the chance to make the most of any lovely views you have from your plot. Here's a recent 5m x 3.5m build by Eden Garden Rooms replacing an old pergola and concrete base in Henley-in-Arden near Birmingham from which the owners run a physiotherapy and pilates business. The outside has cedar cladding and overhead canopy with LED lighting, while interior features include a
treatment and practice room, clever corner window, oak engineered wooden flooring, and three door aluminium bifolds.
