"Some lawmakers in recent months have proposed creating a “standard deduction” on home offices that would allow anyone with rooms exclusively used for business to claim it. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and Kent Conrad (D – N.D.) introduced a bill in late July to create such a standard deduction.
