As we mentioned last week, the beauty of a garden office is that it can actually serve many purposes. I've been talking recently to London-based architect David Hingamp about his work on shedlike atmospheres (above is one he designed in Hampstead, London). "It's a multi-usage space," he says, "which can be used as a barbecue shed, reading room, children's play area, dining room, or work area. The clients adore it! I design quite a few of these garden gems in London. They seem to correspond to an average compromise of a lot of people not being able to move and then extending their property."
