David Hingamp: garden rooms

As we mentioned last week, the beauty of a garden office is that it can actually serve many purposes. I've been talking recently to London-based architect David Hingamp about his work on shedlike atmospheres (above is one he designed in Hampstead, London). "It's a multi-usage space," he says, "which can be used as a barbecue shed, reading room, children's play area, dining room, or work area. The clients adore it! I design quite a few of these garden gems in London. They seem to correspond to an average compromise of a lot of people not being able to move and then extending their property."

  1. Ever thought of turning your Garden room or office into a loudspeaker ? - No - well you can now.

Using Clearsound and Clearsound Bass transducers you can turn the whole side, roof or door of the building in to a loudspeaker sounding board (same principle as a violin or piano).

The sound created will be clearly heard on both the inside and outside of the building, the diffuse sound is not 'pumped' into the atmosphere like a conventional loudspeaker, so it should NOT drift and annoy the neighbours, sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the cool sound of your Garden building.
