Shedworking Friday Group Chitchat

If you've nothing planned for this Friday lunchtime, why not pop in and have a virtual natter at the first Shedworking Friday Group Chitchat?

Perhaps you've used skype or iChat before to videoconference, but even if you're happy with the results, I've been very impressed with newish kid on the block tinychat. It's fabulously easy to get going - it's free, you don't need to download anything, you simply sign up and use your webcam and microphone to start yacking away to anybody you invite into your room. The tinychat folk say it works on Windows, Mac and Linux, with Firefox, IE, Safari, and Chrome (and there is a version for iPhones). Up to a dozen people can be in a room at the same time, as the picture above shows.

Anyway, I had a brief play with it last week and a couple of shedworkers joined in the experiment and so this Friday I thought I'd throw it open to everybody. It will start at 1pm in a 'room' called 'Fridayshed'. If you follow me on twitter, I'll tweet when it's up and running or if you drop me your email address I'll give you a quick nudge half an hour before it starts. Hope to see you there.

  1. I'd love to chat on Friday but I have to admit I'm a time conversion bondhead. :-)

I appears the UK is all on the same time and that you are 8 hours ahead of me (I'm in California) so 1PM UK is 5AM California... right?

If so I may not be able to get my lazy bum out of bed but maybe we can so a slightly later visit another time?

    Thanks!
    Michael
