Ceramic notepad

If your garden office is still not entirely paperless, perhaps this will help a little. It's a ceramic notepad from Yoyo Ceramics. It comes with a special waxy pencil which easily wipes away and you can buy red, blue and yellow ones if you get tired of black. Comes in any size you like as long as you want it approx 15cm x 21cm x 1.5cm. And unlike your moleskin notebook, its dishwasher proof.

  1. I'd be interested to see a life cycle analysis of this compared to paper. Paper is recyclable, renewable. Ceramics are found in archaeological records, long after civilizations have passed. Drop this on a hard floor and its garbage, doesn't lend itself to folding into your pocket either.
Why not just use less paper or scrap paper?

I have had a ceramic note pad for the best part of 15 years. I have to replace the pen but otherwise it seems to be as good as the day I bought it ...hope this helps

  2. EJ,

As an endorser of green products, we believe the ceramic notepad will help remove the need for 'desk accessories' such as the memo pad, or 'post it' notes for scribbling down quick information such as telephone numbers.

We think the majority of people will probably end up throwing small paper items such as these in the bin, rather than recycle.

It may not be a huge boon for climate change, but we do hope it's a small step, which also looks great!
